Open Gaming Interviews asks gaming industry professionals a few questions about their relationship to Open Gaming.
The Open Gaming Network defines an “Open” Game as a game available under any of the following:
* Open Game License: Open Game Licensed products must also abide by the “spirit” of the OGL. That is, products which are overly restrictive in Product Identity, while technically an Open Game License-based product, are effectively too hard to work with by other publishers and therefore not considered “Open” by the Open Gaming Network.
* Creative Commons: The following rights variants are considered Open: CC-CC0 (Public Domain-released), CC-BY, or CC-BY-SA. Any rights variants that prohibit commercial use, or derivatives, are not considered “Open” for the purpose of this definition.
* Public Domain: Any product released into Public Domain are absolutely “Open”.
