Cursed Channeler (Cleric Archetype)

The curse crept over his life like an evening shadow. The oppressive darkness bore down on him and the agony worked of its own will. It wove a merciless, meandering path through his soul, consuming hopes and dreams at every turn until finally, it pushed aside a curtain that hid the secret knowledge of channeling mastery.

The cursed channeler is an archetype of the cleric class.

Accursed

The cursed channeler is cursed and must choose a curse from the oracle list of curses. He gains the benefits and hindrances of the curse as would an oracle of the same level. This choice is made at 1st level, and once made, it cannot be changed.

Potent Channeler

The cursed channeler trades access to domain abilities and powers in exchange for greater channel energy abilities. He can channel energy at greater distances and potency. He progressively gains channeling abilities and power as he gains experience.

Distant Channeling

At 1st level, the radius of his channel energy burst increases by 5 feet. At 4th level and every 4 levels after, the radius increases an additional 5 feet, for a maximum of 60 feet at 20th level.

Bolstered Channeling

Beginning at 3rd level, once per day, the cursed channeler may, when channeling energy to heal or deal damage, expend two uses of channel energy at one time in order to double the dice rolled. At 5th level and every 5 level after, he gains an additional use per day, for a maximum of 5 times per day at 20th level.

Dual Channeling

At 6th level, the cursed channeler can expend two uses of channel energy at one time in order to affect both living and undead creatures with his channel energy. Thus, a cursed channeler channeling positive energy heals the living and damages the undead simultaneously. He may channel either positive or negative energy in this way, not both. He may use dual channeling a number of times per day equal to his Charisma modifier.

Potent Channeling

At 9th level, when channeling energy, the cursed channeler adds his Charisma modifier to the total amount healed or damaged.

Channeling Trick

At 12th level, the cursed channeler selects a channeling feat as a bonus feat.

Deep Well

At 15th level, the cursed channeler gains 4 additional uses of channel energy per day.

Persistent Channeling

At 18th level, the cursed channeler can, as a swift action, empower his channeling with persistent power. Whenever a creature targeted by the cursed channeler’s channel energy burst succeeds on its saving throw against the channel energy, it must make another saving throw against the effect. If a creature fails this second saving throw, it suffers the full effects of the channel energy, as if it had failed its first saving throw. The cursed channeler may use persistent channel a number of times per day equal to his Charisma modifier.

This ability replaces the cleric’s domain class feature.
