1 Klickstarter You Should Buy – Starfarer’s Codex: Horrifically Overpowered Feats

Wait… Klickstarter?… What’s a KLICKstarter with an “L”?

Well, it’s a promotional campaign for a Starfinder product that Owen KC Stephens, Starfinder Design Lead at Paizo Inc., has developed and released through his company, Rogue Genius Games. You can buy Starfarer’s Codex: Horrifically Overpowered Feats right now. It’s available and ready to overpower your gaming table.

But that does not answer what a Klickstarter is. It’s a campaign and, if it reaches certain sales goals or enough social media shares, Owen will write additional pages and/or a Starfinder product that you, as a February purchaser, will get for free. The product is available at the Open Gaming Store and sales through each online store unlock different bonus content.

Starfarer’s Codex: Horrifically Overpowered Feats by Rogue Genius Games

“YES, THEY REALLY ARE THAT BAD!

Look, the Horrifically Overpowered line of products for Pathfinder has been one of our best sellers. So, sure, we understand why people might ask for a Starfinder-compatible version. But, folks, don’t use these!

Sure, it’s cool to have ways to allow characters to spend fewer Resolve Points on everything, or gain the powers of an archetype without giving up any class features, or adding a drone to their party… as a soldier. Or ANY of the meta-attack feats.

But despite having all the rules you need to add these to a campaign, they’re not BALANCED.

You know… because they are Horrifically Overpowered. We did warn you.”

Egg’s Thoughts:

Should you buy this? It’s $3.95 for 18 pages of *broken* Starfinder content by the individual that designs the game. I feel if you play Starfinder, you owe it to yourself to buy it! It’s going to be great for a min/max campaign and even just discussing it will be hours of fun. Add to that, every week in February that this product is a top seller (with some caveats) or it’s shared via social media, the page count climbs by 2, 4, 6, or more pages a week. For $3.95, Owen is offering to ton of content!

Below are sections of Owen’s pitch broken up by stretch goal.

Klickstarter pitch from Owen:

Overpowered feats not enough to main, kill, and totally wreck all game balance in your campaign? Okay then, we’ll add Horrifically Overpowered Spells

If Horrifically Overpowered Feats is one of the Top Three Sellers on the Open Gaming Store in one of the next four weeks (2/1 to 2/7, 2/8 to 2/14, 2/15 to 2/21, or 2/22 to 2/28), we’ll create Starfarer’s Codex: Horrifically Overpowered Spells pdf of at least 6 pages for sale in March, and everyone who bought Horrifically Overpowered Feats (on any site) by Feb 25th will get a pdf of it FREE!

For each additional week it’s one of the Top Three sellers on the OGS, we’ll add two pages to the minimum length!

For any week it’s the number one seller on the OGS, we’ll instead add FOUR pages to the minimum size!

(OGS is going to be kind enough to make official posts each week, to let us everyone publicly know if we’ve hit these goals!)
